Stepok Image Lab. is a studio researches and develops image processing and multimedia software. ScRec is a sub site of Stepok.com, here we focus on screen recording technology only.

We start our research on screen recording in 2001. Based on the first generation SSC codec, we developed a product named ‘Screen Demo Maker’. For reasons of market and wrong technology direction, we stop this project at 2003.

At 2006, we have big break on our algorithm of screen recording, and then the second generation codec comes. Compared to old v1 codec, v2 codec have great improvement in compression ratio, quality and speed. So far as we know, there are no other software already published having achieved same compression ratio with same quality in the world.

Now on screen recording market, there are many products, include some freewares. Considering of this, we decide to develop a simple, free tool based on SSCV2, the SCREEN2EXE. Not like the failed project ‘Screen Demo Maker’, in this time, we plan to collect enough user opinions by way of user-survey, before we decide the next step. So we create an independent site for SSCV2 and its related product, which is the here, the ScRec.
